BDIAP Innovation Grants launched
The Innovation Grants are for BDIAP Member Country Members and are intended to assist study in other departments of Histopathology /Molecular Pathology in the UK or overseas. The aim is that the recipient of a grant should learn about specialist pathological techniques that are not available at their own institution or pursue an area of sub-specialisation at a specialist centre recognised for that area of specialty.
The opportunity should have a major educational component that can be applied to future practice. For example, if the applicant wished to specialise in soft tissue pathology a grant might be for a 2 month attachment to a specialist soft tissue hospital or department to work with an expert team, attend multidisciplinary meetings (tumour boards) and educational sessions, write up a case report or other research manuscript, and gain experience of the molecular pathology techniques and assessment of soft tissue tumours which otherwise are not available in their current training programme.
The BDIAP is offering a total of 6 Innovation Grants a year.
Applications are invited from BDIAP Member Country Trainee Members from the UK, Belgium, Ireland or the Netherlands.
All applications will be formally reviewed by the Innovation Subcommittee
